a must stop. Great docks, super staff, free laundry, one of the best boater lounges and bathroom/shower facilities.

    will not disappoint.

Thought I would give an update. The last review is spot on. There are volunteers that meet you upon arrival, kids were still in school during our visit, that help with lines and give you an overview of the town.

    Here are some important items.

There are (2) 30amp plugs on the side of the building so you will need 2 or 3 cords to reach your boat.

There are (2) 50 amp plugs but they are the RV plug.

There are (4) 15 amp equally spaced down the dock.

The bathrooms get locked around sundown. There is a pay shower in one restroom but we found the machine that accepts quarters not operational but the water still worked, including Hot.

Disappointed. Made dockwa request early in the morning, I was 50 miles out. No response from request so I started calling when we were 2 hours, 1 hour and then when sitting in front of the docks. Left message as the vmail suggested. Tried VHF 16, 9 and 68.

Asked some that were in a slip and I was told "good luck, they will answer when ready". They also said try texting, we did still no reply.

We moved on looking for somewhere else.

This is a well protected spot just in from the inlet. Entrance channel marked well, private, stay in the middle or a bit to port for 9' at low tide.
Once in the depth contours on charts are good. Anchored in 7' low low tide.
Nice beach at entrance to stretch legs and get the dogs out.
You can dinghy across to AC.
Only downfall is the locals seem to get pleasure staying just off plane to throw the largest wake they can until they pass you. Then they go back to idle speed.

convenient free dock in walking distance to resturants and historical sites. The ferry stops here that takes you across to Norfolk. $2 one way or $4.50 for unlimited day pass.

As mentioned before there are conflicting signs but this is a 36 hour max dock. Go to the town website and register your stay.
