After a ten hour trip from Belhaven through the million crab pots on the way into Elizabeth City (yikes!) we ended up at a gem of a stop in a protective cove north of the city. Lamb's Marina is a great example of a family run business that isn't flashy and new but has exceptional " whatever we can do for you service." Mr. Lamb told us if we came in after hours to call him and he would have help at the dock. Dock master Randy is the best of the best. He alone makes this stop a five star venue. With his attention to detail, knowledge, kindness our stay couldn't have been better. Gas dock is easily accessible and the laundry and bathroom facilities are very clean. Quiet still waters made for a great night's sleep. Dog friendly, restaurants, and a nice, well stocked ( fresh vegetables) Dollar General store add to the value of this reasonably priced Marina. Perfect staging to be first in line for the South Mills lock and your adventure on the Dismal Swamp. You can't judge this "book" by its cover. Just note- no pump out service is available. Thank you for great memories- Lamb's Marina!

The Belhaven Marina staff does everything they can to make you feel comfortable and well taken care of. From our first conversation with Vivian to the attention given to us by the guys- wow! The staff at this marina- 3- gave us more attention than we have experienced at any other Marina. They hustle!
The Marina is a bit weathered but every amenity is clean and updated! The laundry (free) room was fantastic- new washer and dryer- very clean. The fenders provided at the dock were so handy! The fuel price here was lowest so far in our journey $3.30- Dock $1.89 a foot.
Right in town. Friendly Methodist church was two block away. Belhaven is a Norman Rockwell small town USA. Great place to stop after/-after crossing the Neuse River.

Excellent stop over between Beaufort NC and Bellhaven, NC. Tom is knowledgeable and guided us in with calm reassurance. Dock crew helpful and friendly. Very dog friendly, small town, stores are fun, the new gallery on Front Street past the New Town brewery is amazing and very affordable art work! We would stop here again. The outside dock was fine for our 34' boat. Winds and river were calm. It might be a challenge to dock here if river is moderate chop and wind from the south or south west. All in all great facility.

Many loopers discuss the challenges of docking. The Town Creek Marina crew- from Tom's first contact with us to guiding us to the slip, to our well mannered and helpful dock hand - we knew this Marina would be a favorite. No stress docking is appreciated on our boat! $9 UBER RIDE or easy mile walk to historic waterfront shops and restaurants make this tucked away and quiet Marina a great choice! Glad other loopers suggested it.

6/3. Bridge tender at Figure Eight bridge is amazing! What an ambassador for the area! He went out of his way to make sure we had clearance!

Overall rating- Five stars for a Free dock tie up with the purchase of one delicious meal! Dock space is first- come- first- serve. We came in on a choppy- 30 MPH wind gusts. Tricky to land our 34 Mainship. A kind server lent us a hand! It was a challenge to get her tied up!
The atmosphere was great, staff very friendly! We ate there for lunch and dinner ( to show our appreciation for the dock space). The restaurant was busy- little wait and good prices. Walking distance from water walk, historic area, and the AGLCA porch talk with Kay and Robert. This is a great deal! However, if your boat is more than 30 and winds are strong don't attempt docking. No amenities- just kind people! To stay you get in line at the front of the building, order food, eat food, pay at the cash register. Tell them you are staying the night and you are set!
Backing out of the slip the next morning was a breeze in calm waters and little to no wind. Depth at the slip we choose was 3.8' at low tide.

Wilmington is a great side trip for loopers and others! Beautiful, clean, modern docks. Neat historic Wilmington and restaurants. Walk the river walk. Grocery stores not far (5 minute drive). Clean facilities. Laundry has clean washer and dryer. Very nice space to do a few loads. Internet was spotty- we connected via our hotspot. The staff was friendly and very accommodating- even when we arrived early on a Sunday! Excellent value!

Durrell met us at the dock with another dock mate. Wide waterways to the slip and their skilled assistance made docking a pleasure! Very calm waters and quiet evening even with Barefoot Landing across the way. Internet great and very dog friendly. Great price for what is more like resort ambience.

Beautiful, clean facility outside busier Charleston marinas. Easy to dock- excellent dock hands. Market onsite is well stocked, restaurant's convenient, easy walk to beach, dog friendly. We stayed there in April. Our quick stop to get ice today reminded us how attentive and welcoming the staff is! Our favorite stop so far!

Fantastic choice for our first night anchoring out! We anchored adjacent to the first house on the starboard side, right of mid channel. We were 1 of 4 boats at anchor with plenty of room. Let out 100' feet of chain and line. Strong current and powerful storm around midnight. We held firm. Lights from the big marine facility down the creek illuminated the waters just enough that we could see dolphins playing at 2:00 AM. Protected spot for kayaking or fishing. Cell service great. No place close for our dog to go ashore.
