We anchored here 5/2/25. Came in mid tide in about 14 ft of water. Because of the tidal change and our freeboard height we put out about 90 ft of chain using a bridle. Another trawler came in later and used the alternate spot a bit farther up the creek and then another came in later and anchored closer to the river. Plenty of room for everyone! Not really any shore access for pets. We paddled around the little island to the north with dolphins escorting us that evening and in the morning as well. Beautiful sunrise and we were in no hurry to leave as Charleston is just a short distance away. Good place to time currents for Elliots Cut if needed. No bug issues but there was a slight breeze in the evening. Good star gazing as well. We'll be back here if we don't have our pup with us.

Anchored 4/27/25. Winds @ 12 knts ESE but died down overnight. Lots of crab pots but spaced out enough to find a hole to drop the hook. Anchored even with Green 89 channel marker and we were closer to shore than the channel marker so wakes weren't an issue. Anchored in 10-11 ft with good holding. 80 ft of chain with a bridle. Anchor chain and anchor came up mostly clean. Mud with shells was easy to clean off. Watched a SpaceX launch. Easy in and out right off the ICW.

Jim waved us down to identify our slip as we pulled in. Very helpful with lines and plugging in shore power. Floating docks in good condition and the harbor in Solomons is protected. We ate at the on-site restaurant La Vela and for a marina restaurant, it was excellent. Easy walking distance to other restaurants. They have a dog run and seem to be very dog friendly. Enjoyed the Safe Harbor membership free stay.

There were several boats anchored directly across from the horse farm so we went around Purdy Point to our starboard and tucked in just across from Gibson Island Boat Works. We draw 3' 6" which allowed us to anchor in this shallow cove. We were able to walk our dog on a small beach on the south side of Purdy Point. Beautiful sunrise over the mooring field.

Anchored in the first open cove to the right as you enter the creek and we had that little cove to ourselves. 6 boats rafted up farther up the creek so plenty of room. 2 catamarans anchored up the creek past the rafters. Well protected from wakes / wind although the creek would be open to winds coming from the Southwest. There are some undeveloped access ramps to Wye Island on the west side of the creek - gravel / grass landings. We paddled there to let our dog do her business and walked around beautiful Wye Island.

Enjoyed this cove more than anticipated. Well protected from wakes since there is a 6 knot limit around the bridge and marinas.
