The crowded anchorage's bottom is rock, sand and mud. Once you get a bite you should be good, but you may want to snorkel the anchor to be sure. Beach access is via a small concrete dock that is high off the water. We used a stern anchor to keep the dinghy from going under. There are plenty vendors for water activities and average restaurants. Kalua stood out as the best place for a drink. Provisioning is very limited and no fuel is available. No services. Clear water and a nice shallow reef close to shore make for good swimming and snorkeling.
