We're repeat customers at Buck's Harbor Marina. John and his family always bend over backwards. It's one of the reasons we keep coming back.(The location is also gorgeous!)

Our charter was terrible. First day the fly bridge steering did not work creating a dangerous boat handling situation. We lost a day getting that repaired. A few days later a water cooling hose on the genset let go, again causing another lost day while getting it repaired. Jon Buck has refused to return our deposit or to reimburse our expenses. The boat was clearly unsafe when we boarded. It should be removed from charter service until all systems are checked. Jon Buck refuses to respond to emails or phone calls. We have brought this situation to the attention of the Maine Attorney General in hopes of a resolution. This has been going on since July 2018.

Unfortunately, my charter was a disaster. The boat I ended up with, a 32-foot Grand Banks, had a malfunctioning anchor windlass and was neither Coast-Guard documented nor state registered. When I returned it, Jon Buck the owner promised to refund nearly all my money, close to $10,000, but has not done so after nearly two months. He has ignored requests from the Better Business Bureau and BoatUS to respond to my complaint, which is now with the Maine Attorney General's office. We'll see if he responds to them.
