I entered from the Bay side on July 6, 2023 and can confirm that for now, Bradford's comment is correct. There is a single red #4 in the correct position for the current channel. Red-right-returning from the Bay. There is not a red buoy #4A as shown on my Navionics chart. I did not plot the exact position of red #4 but just that the channel is now marked correctly. It was an easy entry with at least 7.5 ft depth to the Knapps Narrows Marina.

The red 4 is now a green 5 and a red nun buoy has been added. We transit in at low tide and didn't see any depth shallower than 7 feet.

Note: The shoaling is still listed in the 5th District NTM.

We went through two days ago and found that R4 appears to be out of position as compared to USACE surveys. We went south of R4 and didn't see anything less than 7'.

I can confirm that is the case; I went through there last week and a towboat US boat was coming out on the wrong side and he instructed me to hug that marker on the wrong side, as did several locals.

Ran a ground upon entering in channel at low tide. I called the fuel dock on VHF for assistance & was told to keep right of the red #4 as it was 18" deeper "south of channel".
Used bow thruster to spin boat south and was able to motor in to the narrows and get fuel.
Dockmaster teased that he thinks a boat tow company must have placed the red marker. Thank goodness no damage incurred.
