  • Vertical Clearance (Closed): 13.00 ft.
  • Horizontal Clearance: 120.00 ft.
  • Schedule:

    The drawspan must open on signal; except that, from 6:40 a.m. to 8:10 a.m., 12 noon to 1 p.m., and 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday except Federal holidays, the drawspan need not be opened for passage of vessels. Public vessels of the United States must be passed at anytime.

    This bridge may not be open for marine traffic. Back in May, 2024 a barge hit the bridge. It was open to vehicle traffic, but according to a local it won't open for boat traffic (possibly for a long time). I tried going through there during scheduled hours and nobody responded to radio calls.

      There is nothing in the Notice to Mariners indicating this. WG call will attempt to call the bridge.

    Bringing a Derrick and anchor barge to Newport dock just outside of causeway bridge.. 45’ wide and wondering about openings.. ETA is 6/24/2019 around noon.. Does bridge open on demand or should I take alternate route around the island.. Thanks
