- Description:
The bay between Gun Point and Ridley Head offers good holding and good protection from prevailing easterly winds. Lying just off the route to the Devils Backbone, it is a good vantage from which to assess the state of tide and the weather conditions before committing to the Devils Back Bone which begins at Ridley Head. It is also a good choice for vessels wanting to make an early start for Abaco as the route across the reef at Ridley Head is visible from the anchorage.N.B. The beach is private and posted so going ashore is a problem. It is approximately 1 nm to the ferry landing on the south side of Gun Point.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
