Conway - Wacamaw River North

  • Location: Conway
  • Lat / Lon: N 33° 50.079' / W 079° 02.589'
  • Description:

Pleasant spot to drop the hook and enjoy Conway—whether or not the free docks are full or not. Dinghy ashore to the nearby town dock. We did get a pizza from a local establishment while in this beautiful spot, and the pizza was forgettable. I can't remember the name of the pizzeria, but suffice it to say, pizza does not appear to be what you want to order in Conway. It's probably also not a good place for sushi—just guessing. There is a grocery about 2 miles away. We really enjoyed the feel of this little town. Holding in this anchorage was a little suspect. We did have to reset once while we were here. The currents in this spot will slowly work you in a circle, so that is probably the "cost of doing business."

DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
