Rudder Cay Cave
- Location: Southern Exumas
- Lat / Lon: N 23° 52.280' / W 076° 14.380'
- Depth: 9'-11'
- Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
- Description:
The “Cave” anchorage is on the opposite side of the headland south from the Beach anchorage. As the name implies there is a large cave in the rock face of the headland that provides for an interesting photo op.
In settled easterly conditions the protection is similar to the beach anchorage, but it is more susceptible to rolling when the winds turn the south east. For those wishing to dive on the famous underwater Piano that was installed by David Copperfield it is only a short dinghy ride to the site. The holding close to the beach is poor.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
