- Depth: 8'-10'
- Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
- Description:
The large bay at the north end of Guana Cay, Between Dotham Point and Black Point forms a large and popular anchorage. The holding is excellent and the protection from easterly winds is good, however the anchorage becomes very rough in winds from south to north.
Boaters have weathered cold fronts in the anchorage, but most who have done so, will not repeat the experience soon. If winds with a significant westerly component are forecast, it is better to seek shelter in either Farmers Cay to the south or Between the Majors to the north. For periods of north wind, the anchorage at Little Bay on the south side of the peninsula from Black Point Settlement offers slightly better protection.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
